Tonight was Shoulders and Arms. I actually did pretty good on this workout. I was completely winded, cardio-wise during the day 1 Chest and Back workout. I couldn't seem to catch my breathe. During this workout I was able to keep up the pace on 90% of the exercises. I had an idea on how much weight I should be able to lift for each exercise based on the first round of P90X. I made the mistake of not having my other plates readily available to swap out and I paid the price for it. I am in the hunt for a set of quick-change dumbells, just can't justify 300+ for a set, although I know they'll make my workouts 10 times easier to get the right weight dialed in. I actually felt pretty strong doing most of the curls. Probably my weakest exercises are the flys. My elbows are achy from the push-ups from day one.
Ab Ripper X kicked my ass as it always does. I was able to get through more of it this time and just like my first go-round, a few weeks in I intend to be able to do most of the exercises.
I've made the decision to do the workouts without pausing, unlike my first go-round. I'd pause and catch up to the video and then press play. The main problem with this is the workouts ended up being an hour & forty minutes to two hours long. And with me already having issues getting enough rest, I've decided to do my best without stopping. Having been here before I know, the exercises will get easier as I get stronger. Then it's up to me to up the weight and bring the intensity. Tonights workout burned 1067 calories! Stoked!
Nutrition was almost spot on I came within 60 calories of my daily intake goal. Eating was much better/easier today than yesterday. It's funny when people see you eating healthy after being used to seeing you eat fast food all the time they get all interested in your diet. Everyone seems to be nutritionists, LOL. I'm sticking to the P90X Portion plan as closely as possible, it worked well for me last time.
Time for bed,
